Forget the night tour it's a scam don't torture the horses and camels like most obese tourists do animals are notoriously maltreated by the locals Very interesting cultural site otherwise if locals were not present hassling you in every step of the way Do not take a tour or guide do it on your pace if at all possible stay for the afternoon where there's practically nobody left

Unbelievable geology and interesting history. Be sure to go through the small but informative museum for a good foundation and take a map from the entrance/museum for you walk. The horse rides are "included" as noted on the entry ticket, but the handlers will et you know that a "tip" is expected... and expect them to "haggle" and plead for a bigger one.

Absolutely amazing. If you have an option it is better to enter the place around 15-16 o'clock. In this case there will be no crowd and you will have plenty of time till closing. Don't forget to take lots of water (at least 1L for person) and at least 50 SPF creme. Be prepared for strong smells since lots of horses, donkeys and camels are at the location. Besides of that you almost certainly will be amazed.

We were in Petra over seven months ago and I am still overwhelmed and fascinated by this immense site. I went with a group, yet we had an excellent Jordanian guide who took us off the beaten track and then gave us time to poke around on our own. We only spent a day here, but there is much more to discover and do than can be accomplished in that amount of time. Don't buy from the children, they need to be in school.

Self explained by one of the world 7 wonders. Yet, I thought it is all about the Treasury Building as I've seen on photos and TV program. The truth is Petra is a big city that has more that 3000 sites in which 800 are important. To visit Petra you need to be ready with hiking gear and comfortable clothes. It requires a lot of walking and may stairs claiming. Wow!
