There is no other place like Petra. Too much of walking so your fitness levels should be excellent. Camels and donkey rides are available, a high class restaurant and a few sandwich and cold drinks places on the routes. carry sunblock, hats and water in plenty. a photographers paradise and a history aficionados Disney land !! MUST VISIT.

I get why they sell Indiana Jones stuff. It's definitely like being in a movie. Word of warning. Don't accept any gifts - they will demand money from you. If you start to buy or talk to anyone - they will call your friends and you will be targeted for more sales. One ride on a horse between the entrance and where the two parted road becomes one road is included in your entrance ticket, BUT those who take you will expect a tip. They might ask for 10 dollars or more. It's included in your ticket, so giving them 3-5 dollars is more appropriate. If you buy any other rides, make sure you agree on the price and exact location on where they drop you off beforehand. Otherwise they will stop after a while and drop you off -asking for more. Children work there because people buy things from them - buying rides and things from children means you say is okay for them to be there instead of school.

Loved it! Beautiful structures which were a sight to behold. The treasury and the monastery are the two main attractions you have to see. If you have time, find the top view of the treasury (find the path behind the royal tombs) or go to the high place of sacrifice.

Amazing, albeit very crowded, location. Do hire a guide to take you up on the elevated sections. Really worthwhile, especially if you're only there for a day.

Forget the night tour it's a scam don't torture the horses and camels like most obese tourists do animals are notoriously maltreated by the locals Very interesting cultural site otherwise if locals were not present hassling you in every step of the way Do not take a tour or guide do it on your pace if at all possible stay for the afternoon where there's practically nobody left
